Three Church Gathering and a Hike with my Lovely Wife

Three churches gathered together for a day of worship, ministry and sports competition. It was a really good time.... except our basketball team lost..... haha! Here are a few photos of the worship time we had together, and also of the basketball competition in the afternoon.

Our university had a few days off for spring break, so Kathy and I took a hike together up some small mountains south of the city in Zaisan. The day was a bit overcast, but we had a really nice time.

Lunch for everyone :)

And here are pics of the hike Kathy and I took ...

A Visit from Some Friends

Our dear friends Bernard and Hazel Hull came for a visit a few weeks ago. So nice to see them :) We have known each other since 1977 when we met in England at a Christian conference. The conference had a great influence in our lives. And we met some wonderful people including Bernard and Hazel.

While they were here with us, Kathy and I showed them around Ulaanbaatar where we live, and some other places not too far outside the city. We also gave them opportunity to speak in our church, in our university, and in several other places. The times were refreshing for us. It's great to hear so many aspects of the truth of Jesus Christ. We will miss our friends but look forward to future days together!

You can see photos here of our time in Terelj National Park. It was so cool to be in the hills among the roaming horses and cattle. The leaves will be out soon in the birch trees and other vegetation in the countryside. We followed some of the horses up the hills and had a fun time photographing :) We were also in the center of Ulaanbaatar where we saw the noon time posting of the guards at the government building in Sukhbaatar Square.

The huge Chinggis Khan monument towering in the countryside.

Kathy enjoying the walk :)

Lunch in a ger cooked by some local folks :) Great food!
