Two days in Mongolia

Kathy and I arrived in Mongolia yesterday noon after a 13 hour flight from Los Angeles, a two hour layover in Beijing, China and a two hour flight to Ulan Baatar, the capital of Mongolia. Getting the final things prepared and packed at home was not easy but we finally finished late Tuesday. A bunch of friends met us at our home to see us off, which was great. Some of them went with us to the airport in Los Angeles. A few of the photos posted today are from there. Our friends Gansukh and Oogii met us at the airport and took us to their nice home with our six suitcases, guitar and a few carry on bags. So much stuff! But we thank God we arrived safe.

We got to their home after getting our phones up and running and stopping at a bank to exchange some money. The weather is great here! The harshest part of winter has passed and surprisingly there is only a bit of snow on the mountains. It was about 35°F. Kathy and I took a walk near where we are staying. Some of the photos were taken from the second floor of the home we are staying at. Our next priority is finding an apartment.
