The summer rolls on... and I am enjoying getting some things done that I have put off for over a year. I am finally getting some more rest these days, and Kathy and I are able to get out more and see some sites and do some things. We just finished putting up some original artwork on our living room walls and also in our study. The art is of the Mongolian countryside... all so nice :)
We sometimes spend time shopping around the city. Ulaanbaatar is a city of contrast... most of the city is quite poor, with poorly built and maintained roads and sidewalks, much petty crime and lots of noise. But there is the rich side also. The downtown area is quite fascinating, and even having some very expensive stores and commercial buildings, as you can see in some of the photos in this blog.
We also took another hike a week ago to a mountain called Tsetse Gun, the highest one in this area of the country. It was a long walk, not too steep, starting from a monastery called Manzushir and hiking 5 km to the top of Tsetse Gun. There were some beautiful views along the way :)

No, I don't have money to buy at Swarovski's, but the colors and lights in this store caught my eye :) |
